High Country Day of Code!

High Country Day of Code logo

  • Computing activities and opportunities for all ages!
  • No previous knowledge required!
  • Parents welcome but not necessary.
  • Robots, hardware, hands-on.
  • Software of every level: Scratch to Java.
  • Lunch provided.

Students will be put into small groups and attend various computing stations located throughout the department. AppState CS students will lead the stations working with the group collaboratively to demonstrate an activity.

Parents are welcome to stay and observe, relax in our lounge (internet is available), explore campus/Boone, or some combination of all of the above! There will be a parent info session led by a CS department faculty member to answer any questions about raising computing kids, tracking for computing in high school and college, etc.

Special thanks to ECRS, Inc. for sponsoring this event.

The event is being held in the Computer Science department on the 3rd floor of Anne Belk Hall. Here is a link to ASU map to Anne Belk Hall. Stay tuned for info on best place(s) to park.
